11-19-7 NEWEST NOTE :
For some time, I had been bothered that my dev that got DailyDeviated so long ago was -not- a good clean indication of the artwork in question. I was supposed to be showing my *costume* and not a kinda funky photo-manip that happened to have my costume in it.
So here, finally, are some nice shots c/o ~
saeru on Halloween 2k7, of the most current version of my Nightmare.
Overall, it's...okay ( :dodges thrown debris: )...and it's a million times better than the first time I used him at ACen 2k5, but the arm still rather displeases me. Originally, none of the joints other than the elbow moved, but now that the pivots have been alloted for, it's -too- oversized (at least for SCII version Nightmare - granted his arm has been shrinking each game.) Anyway, I don't know if it matters at this point, but I'm still going to investigate a better method of construction.
I had kind of abandoned this particular dA account, but I think I'll be going thru it soon and weeding everything again and there might be a change in focus...

I am shocked actually.
I guess I just wanted to add that this costume wasn't made just because I wanted a construction challenge or just to be a crazy attention grabber in a crowd or just because I enjoyed playing the game.
As cheeseball as this sounds, many years ago Nightmare/Sieg became a metaphor to my real life, and has become a personal symbol of *why* I still paint, take photos, make costumes or share any of my art at all.
....and blah blah blah.
Hey, look...a giant mutant eyeball sword!

Anyway, I really have to sleep and get to work in the morning.
